Redesigned the city website to consider users first
The City of Burbank’s website was an overwhelming mess. The outdated look and feel was just the beginning; it was also a beast to navigate. With walls of text and links, it required many clicks to find anything. In the midst of a global pandemic, this was especially vital to fix.
After exploring the needs of its diverse users and the City Government itself, we completely overhauled the site's design and content architecture into a vibrant and modern experience. The new site is now responsive (desktop, tablet, mobile), adhering to federal and local accessibility standards. It also incorporates new branding recently created for the City of Burbank. We also defined the feature set for the supporting content management system (CMS), and led the content strategy and migration for the new site.
Users raved at the site’s transformation. Its clean design makes it easy for users to quickly find what they are looking for, and Burbank now has a site that reflects the City’s status as the media capital of the world.
